Some random details about Jerusalem

Almost all the taxis are Mercedes. Mercedes in varying conditions, true, but still it looks strange to me.

The bagels are twice as thick as American bagels and unbelievably good when fresh-baked.

There are cats all over the campus, all over the city, actually. Four or five live outside the door to my dorm building. They run around, lounge in the shade and look at you.

Lots of streets are paved with limestone, especially in the Old City, and have become so smooth after decades of use that you have to watch your step. Anna says when it rains you can usually see at least one person fall on their ass. Even some of the non-limestone sidewalks are worn smooth.
