Happy Chanukah to all
I picked up a free chanukiah at school two days ago, and Beth had two in our room, so we lit some candles yesterday night for the first night of Chanukah and put the chanukiahs in our window for people to see. I was excited for my first chanukiah-lighting, since Chanukah is of course a Jewish holiday and I'd never done anything related to it before. And also, as anyone who's been to a Girl Scout campout with me knows, I'm something of a pyro and love to light things on fire. The stove in our apartment is great, because it's one of those ones where you turn on the gas and then use a match to light it. We go through a lot of matches. :)
On the subject of things that make me feel Jewish (as opposed to things that remind me that I'm not Jewish, plentiful in a Jewish state), my name is good for blending in with a crowd of Jewish names when my professors take attendance. Camp isn't really Jewish, but with a first name like Hanna people just assume. Although Leora tells me I don't have the Jewish nose. No, the real fun is when I occasionally get to explain that I belong to a non-Jewish family who nevertheless named the two kids Hanna and Noah.

You must have some really confused parents.
You have no idea.
Sometimes I sit & wonder....What were we thinking??
Happy Chanukah!
