Wouldn't you know it...
I make the whole trek up freaking French Hill, get groceries, and forget spaghetti sauce. Of course the reason I told myself several hours ago, "hey, you need to go up to French Hill and get groceries," was that I didn't have spaghetti sauce. But I now have onions, so good thinking.
Having been in Jerusalem (as in on the actual ground) a month as of tomorrow, I now feel safe in saying there is not a box of Wheaties in the entire city. Refried beans may be around somewhere, but probably in a Mexican restaurant, and vegetarian Israeli Mexican food isn't something I'm dying to try.
On another food-related issue: I had Yemenite food tonight. Alright, I had salad (Yemenite salad, but it's really just normal salad with a few different spices) and one new thing, something called "malawa" that is kind of like fried pita dough, or something. I can't really explain, but it was flaky and good.

Forgetting things at the grocery store must be a universal condition. Us old folks have to make a list. I can't remember a list of more than 3 things in my head (reliably).
Hey, good job trying some new food!
Do you need Dad's refried bean recipe? You'd have to be able to buy kidney beans (or something similar-pinto?)
It's very hot here-probably 100+ at the nursery today.
Love from your Mom
